Road Construction to start Jan 2010.Bovis has just been awarded regional funding for the £12 million road infrustructure. Road infrastructure works will start at a 'blistering" pace in Jan 2010 and are set to be completed within the year 2010.

Construction of the road infrastructure will now start in 2010 and is in TWO stages.

Stage 1: A new roundabout junction will be built near the Royal Mail centre commencing Jan 2010 it willbe completed end end of July 2010.

Stage 2: Then, the Link Road connecting the Royal Mail junction to the Mall will be built and will be completed before the end of 2010.- at which point Highwood Lane (from Coniston Rd (top end) to Sparrowbill Way = new road emerging form development between Callicroft Traffic lights and shikane) will close to become a Bus Lane only.

 

This will bring the phasing strategy back in line with that set out in the March 2008 planning agreement.

House construction to started Spring 2010 350 dwellings per year - total 2,200. Construction originally scheduled to start Sept 2008.
